About HomiCrew

Your Home. Your Crew. This is a preview.

  • Nothing is sent to anyone unless you send it.
  • No contractor pays us for your request. Ever.
  • Free. No account needed.

What it does

You paste or say a contractor’s quote. The app explains what you are buying in plain words, line by line, points out what is missing and what looks risky, and gives you five questions to ask before you sign. It says whether the work usually needs a permit and reminds you that your building department decides.

  • Plain-language pages for all 32 home trades, so you can understand a job before you buy it.
  • Contract rules from the official state pages for Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Wyoming: deposit limits where a state sets one, your right to cancel, and what a contract must contain. Each rule shows its source and the date we checked it.
  • A quote-request kit that drafts the message; you send it yourself.
  • A finder for licensed contractors near a ZIP code you type, built from public license records and showing the license status from the record.
  • Rebate and financing basics, as education.

What it never does

These are built into the app, not left to good intentions.

  • Never contact anyone for you

The app sends no text messages, no emails and no calls. It drafts a message; nothing leaves your phone unless you press Share, Email or Copy and send it yourself.

  • Never use an AI to phone a contractor

The app does not use an AI to place calls for you or to reach any contractor.

  • Never lend money or arrange a loan

We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. Financing information here is general education; lenders decide terms.

  • Never help with an insurance claim

If you have a claim, talk to your insurer. The app explains a contractor's quote, not a claim.

  • Never show a price it cannot source

Any dollar figure comes from your own quote or from a source cited beside it. We do not show typical-cost numbers copied from lead-generation sites.

  • Never invent a contractor

It names only a business that appears in the quote you pasted or in a public license record.

  • Never sell or share your information

We never sell, rent or share your information with contractors, lenders, advertisers or anyone else. Your request reaches a contractor only when you send it yourself.

  • Never take money from a contractor

No contractor pays us for your request or for a place in front of you. Ever.

How it makes money

Right now, it does not. No contractor, lender or advertiser pays us. We may later offer a paid one-time pass for extra decodes if enough people want one; we are finding that out before building it. It will never sell your request to a contractor as a lead, and it will never rank a contractor higher because of who pays.

Who is behind it

It is run by the team, a small group. We have not put a person’s name or face on it, so judge it by what it does and by what the pages below commit us to. The operating entity will be added when it exists. To reach us, write to [email protected].
